Like how misery loves company, happiness is to be shared too. Right?

On August 3rd, they entered.
They being, Justin Lim and Joshua Sim.

These boys, were a main part of the girls' lives,
As it is to be revealed as the story goes on.

Joshua Sim, 15 and Justin Lim, 14.
Both guys have been XiaoTing and Cheryl's,
good friends and godbrothers for a long time.
Even going way back to the days where all four of them,
used to play the international role-playing game of Maple.

The two girls introduced the guys to Shaa because,
she plays an important part of their lives, just as the guys were.

They believed that, they could always have this kind of happiness.
All three of them.

Days flew past them, just like the wind.
Unfortunately for the girls;
nothing in this world could last forever.

Trouble began to brew soon after.
At first, it was just Shaa,
being in a rocky situation with her boyfriend, Jasper.

Both of them helped Shaa through her hard time,
being with her when she needed someone to talk to,
to spare her their their shoulder to cry on,
and even providing comical relief
whenever she needs to lift her spirits up.

It didnt end there though,
for it wasn't just Shaa,
who's having problems with the matters of the heart.

It was the same for Cheryl and XiaoTing.

It was hard.

Cheryl was crushing on Justin then,
while XiaoTing had eyes for Joshua.

Liking them, was to put a risk on their friendships.

Cheryl was torn between falling in love,
or to risk it all on a long term relationship.

XiaoTing, on the other hand,
didn't wish to be in a relationship with Joshua,
just because Cheryl was pushing him towards her 'fiance'.

It became complicated,
because the boys themselves did not know what they wanted.

The girls didn't know that,
something was just about to break them apart.

All they knew then,
was to stick by each other,
and hope for the best.

One mistake,
that was all it took.

most people didn't understand anything,
but the ones directly involved felt all the pain.

xiaoting had met justin first, and became a couple,
whilst cheryl met josh, and they fell in love too.
during that period, xiaoting and cheryl meant lots to each other,
and they wanted to introduce their loves to one another.
thus, justin and josh came into the picture.

it was in december, where all of them had their holidays.
they'd meet up everyday in maple,
playing from morning to night,
just to be with one another.

however .. they tend to say ..
that the friend your boyfriend turns to for advice ..
might end up being admired by her.
and it was proven to be correct.

josh and cheryl started spending less time together,
while justin and cheryl grew closer.
they'd talk to each other on the phone everyday,
and one day .. they realised .. that they'd fallen for one another.

on the other hand .. a relationship was stirring
between josh and xiaoting.
it was as if they switched boyfriends ..
and yet, they were happier that way.

to cheryl .. justin was everything.
sweet, funny, nice, and what she needed to be happy.
he once told her .. " it's funny how we've only talked for awhile,
and I can still tell you that I miss you. "
at that time .. those words made her ecstatic.

until one day .. he disappeared.
his reasons .. were stupid, and broke cheryl's heart.
she promised herself not to be so stupid,
as to believe in him and fall for him again.

at that time, xiaoting and josh started having problems too.
and in the end .. they broke up.
both cheryl and xiaoting were left heartbroken,
and it was a painful experience for both of them.

but then one day .. justin came back.
cheryl tried to pretend that they were only friends,
but she couldn't stop her feelings,
and soon, she found herself falling for him again.

at that time,
josh was also important to her.
always caring for her, and protecting her.
whenever she was sick, he got worried,
and he was the older brother she never had.

then .. shaa came into the picture,
and cheryl and xiaoting decided to introduce,
the two most important guys in their life,
to an important girl of theirs.

they thought they could be happy, and together ..
but sometimes fate tends to play cruel jokes ..
and one day .. everything fell apart ..

What you are about to read right now,
is an account of real life events that occurred,
between two female adolescents, one thirteen while the other, seventeen.

They were from, metaphorically, different worlds.
With different social lives and background.
If without that one link that brought them together,
this story probably would not exist.

to differenciate the point of views of the two,
cheryl's thoughts would be bolded.

The two girls are named Cheryl and Shaa,
with the latter being the older half of the duo.

Cheryl, is your average freshman that people just cant hate.
With usual results that both parents and teachers can be proud of,
and classmates that tease her about it but yet,
will try to get her help with their work when they're stuck.

She goes day by day with a smile plastered on her face,
thanks to the clique she constantly spends time with.
Some of those smiles were truly genuine, others not so much.

To others that do not know her,
would have an impression that she is awfully shy.
But as it is to be revealed later,
several would beg to differ.


Shaa, on the other hand, is the total opposite of Cheryl.
A graduating student and yet, she constantly disappoints
both her parents and teachers with her results.
Due to her introverted personality in school and home,
she remains detached from her classmates as well as her family.

Her comfort lies with her one friend, her god sister,
and that's when her true personality comes out.

To her classmates and parents, she was a person of few words.
To the rest of the world, they will probably call her an eccentric person.

It was on June 28th of the year 2008 where it all started.
Shaa was instant messaging her friend, Xiao Ting,
or "Lessy" as she endearingly nicknames the girl.

on June 28th, 2008,
Cheryl was on msn with her friend, XiaoTing,
whom she called, her 'fiance'.
She had heard stories about Shaa, as well as a few others,
from Xiaoting, and was interested in meeting her.

Unbeknownst to them then, XiaoTing was actually her link to a very scandalous affair.

The first thing that Shaa read from her was,

(6:25 PM) - ♥}/TING.:
LESSY!
(6:25 PM) - ♥}/TING.:
got ppl want to meet you. o.o

Like any other person, Shaa was surprised and wary at first.
After questioning her 'Lessy' as to the reason why,
she agreed to be invited for an IM conference.

Surprise surprise!
The person that wanted to meet her, was none other than Cheryl.
As a joke, Shaa 'confessed' that she was a 'les' to lighten up the chat.
But it was to no avail as, it remained to be uncomfortable for the trio.

She asked Xiaoting to introduce Shaa to her,
and thus, they were introduced.
the first thing Shaa said to her was,
" HI! I'm a les. "

Cheryl was taken aback by Shaa's easygoing-ness,
and how she was so cheerful and fun to be around.
She wanted to get closer, but because she was shy,
they had really awkward conversations.
they were, as others might say, mere "acquaintances".

The chats between the two protagonists continued to be short and awkward.
Luckily, everything changed on the July the 3rd.

'Twas the day where they officially called each other 'Scandals'.


That day, the three teamed up together to spam each other's blogs,
and called themselves, "Spammers' United".

Halfway spamming through Cheryl's blog,
Shaa nicknamed Cheryl, her 'Scandal'.
And from then on, the two were inseperable.

One day, however, she asked Shaa to tag her blog,
in a feeble attempt to start another conversation.
Shaa wrote, " I love Cheryl " on Cheryl's tag board.
That was what gave her the courage to be less timid and quiet,
They started jokingly dissing Xiaoting,
because basically, she was the most they had in common then.

They started spamming each other's blogs,
and named themselves, "spammers united".
At that time, Cheryl was going through a rough patch at school,
but she printed out the tags,
and whenever she felt like she couldn't go on,
she took it out, read it, and grinned like some mad person.

They called each other names like, " kuku ", " retarded ", and so on.
words that were supposed to be used as mockery,
become words that seemed to belong to just the two of them.
it was something that just strengthened their bond.

and thus. a beautiful friendship was formed.
